This year the
PTO Santa's Workshop
will be held from Monday, Dec. 7- Friday Dec. 11th.
This is not a fundraiser event but is rather a service that the PTO
provides to help our kids shop for their families.
We are in need of parent volunteers to help staff it. There is a
morning shift from 8-11:30 am and an afternoon shift from 11:30-3:00pm.
We need two parents working at all times. Please respond ASAP if you
could cover a shift and help make the Santa's Workshop a success.
Also, in order to volunteer you will need to have a background check
form on file with the school. Please stop by the front office and pick
up/turn in your form.
Please reply with your name, day of the week and morning or afternoon
shift. This is a fun time of year to volunteer and witness the kids'
excitement about the coming holiday!
Don’t forget fund raiser money is now due. Also, if you ordered
flip-flops, they are in and will be sent home with your child VERY SOON!
The Tom Bean Elementary Parent
Teacher Organization is open to all parents/guardians & grandparents
that would like to be involved in the activities of the school. The PTO
exists to support both teachers and parents and the school in general.
PTO always needs volunteers to help with our Fall Festival, to provide
for our teacher appreciation events, to staff book fairs, and to work at
Santa's Workshop.
The PTO is proud of our recent accomplishments. With monies raised from
last year's fundraiser we were able to help with some big things at
T.B.E. This past year we subsidized the upper grades trip to the Dallas
Museum of Art Egyptian Exhibit, helping to make it more affordable for
all families. A teacher appreciation luncheon was given with catering
from the Olive Garden. Also, we received a grant from Lowe's Toolbox
for Education and installed new equipment and sand on the front
playground!
**Be on the lookout for our big 2009 fundraiser to kick-off on Monday,
September 14th. Children will be bringing info. home!
This is our one and only big fundraiser of the year. Monies raised will
allow us to continue with improvements of the school grounds and to
possibly buy new electronic teaching equipment at our teachers' request.
Please support your PTO through our fundraiser!**
PTO is always in need of volunteers. Get involved and make a difference
in your child's school experience!
Right now we are looking for a volunteers to coordinate:
the
Campbell's Labels for Education program
CiCi's Pizza Fundraising Nights
the
TerraCycle/Capri Sun Pouch Recycling Program
the
Target Red Card Fundraiser
